Head of Business Development

  • Location:
  • Type: Permanent

TalentHub is delighted to be partnering exclusively with a well-established and highly regarded Irish cloud, AI and mobile software consultancy on a key senior appointment. Our client has an impressive portfolio of enterprise clients across financial services, healthcare and national infrastructure.

They are now looking to appoint a Head of Business Development to drive new business growth and take full ownership of their enterprise sales strategy. This is a high-impact, autonomous role for a commercially driven professional who thrives on building relationships, opening doors and closing complex, long-cycle deals.

The role

Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, you will be the primary driver of new enterprise business, targeting private sector organisations across healthcare, financial services and energy. You will own the full sales cycle from strategic prospecting and pipeline development through to RFP/RFI management and contract negotiation.

  • Identify and penetrate high-value enterprise accounts across your target verticals
  • Lead consultative discovery sessions, translating complex client challenges into bespoke software and digital solutions
  • Build and manage a robust sales pipeline with end-to-end ownership
  • Sell into senior stakeholders including CTOs, Finance Directors and Procurement leads
  • Act as a brand ambassador at industry events, building the company's profile as a preferred digital partner
  • Collaborate with engineering and delivery teams to shape commercially sound, technically credible proposals

What we are looking for

  • 8+ years of enterprise B2B sales experience, with a strong and demonstrable track record of opening doors and closing deals
  • Proven background selling cloud services (AWS, Azure or GCP), bespoke software, digital consultancy or managed services
  • Experience with AI-driven solutions and the ability to articulate their business value to a non-technical audience
  • Deep knowledge of the Irish enterprise market — existing relationships with private sector clients across healthcare, financial services or energy is a significant advantage
  • Experienced in long-cycle, consultative selling with multi-stakeholder sales processes
  • A well-networked professional who can navigate procurement and bypass gatekeepers through earned trust
  • Strong commercial acumen — comfortable talking P&L, ROI and operational efficiency at C-suite level
  • Self-starter mentality, comfortable in a remote-first environment with the drive to perform against a commission-linked structure

What is on offer

  • A senior, highly autonomous role with genuine influence over the company's growth trajectory
  • Competitive base salary with a performance-linked commission structure
  • Laya Healthcare cover for employee and immediate family
  • Company pension with employer matching
  • 25 days annual leave, rising with service
  • Company phone, laptop and expenses
  • Hybrid working — 2 to 3 days in the Dublin office per week
