Head of Department for a new channel in an existing business.

This international, long-established business are adding a third P&L centre to the company, and require an experienced Leader to spearhead this new, direct to consumer, offering.
This role is responsible for taking the proposition from zero to a fully operational business, owning the P&L, and delivering commercial success. The ideal candidate will have a strong strategic mindset, commercial acumen, and hands-on experience in launching and scaling new businesses.

One non-negotiable of this role is that whilst the business language is English, candidates must have fluent French OR Italian, as these are the two biggest trading markets for the company. Whilst the HQ is Dublin, candidates who can work from either Paris or Milan are welcome to apply

In this role, you will identify, hire and manage at least 3 B2B salespeople to sell to suppliers, and a category manager. It is anticipated that you will further expand the team, and in tandem with this, you will work cross-functionally with Marketing, Brand, Product Development, Technology and Financial teams.
Whilst the established business is sold via retail outlets and online, this new offering will be purely ecommerce, therefore candidates from ecommerce businesses will have a distinct advantage, as will those with experience of marketplaces.

Ideally, you have start up experience or at least have created an MVP or developed a new proposition, and can demonstrate success in doing so.
Candidates should be able to cite their experience with sales enablement, pipeline structuring, and B2B partnership negotiations.
