Head of Sponsorship

TalentHub are proud to partner with Ireland’s well-renowned national airline as it seeks its Head of Sponsorship. This role will provide leadership in Sponsorship for the brand, developing and implementing the Sponsorship Strategy in line with the Brand Strategy, that delivers optimum return on investment.

Working closely with company marketing & communications teams and external agency partners, this sponsorship marketeer will ensure that brand sponsorships are collectively managed in line with brand strategy and proposition and targeted at core consumer or key segments. This is a great opportunity for a talented marketeer to work on one of Ireland’s top brands as they reconnect with consumers and rebuild through recovery. Responsible for all sponsorship related marketing, this candidate will work closely with brand, campaign, social media, digital, internal communications and PR teams to drive innovation and best practice to meet clearly stated objectives and targets. This is an exciting international role, serving markets in Ireland, UK, Europe and North America. The role is based in Dublin on a hybrid basis and reports to the Marketing Director.

Responsibilities

 
  • Development and implementation of the sponsorship strategy that will contribute to commercial objectives and revenue targets, brand KPIs and achieve specific sponsorship KPIs.
  • Develop and implement sponsorship strategy which will support and articulate brand strategy and proposition and provide points of differentiation.
  • Critically evaluate current sponsorship roster with a view to developing best strategic partners for the brand.
  • Actively contribute to brand KPIs, particularly affinity and preference.
  • Collaborate with Sales teams to identify opportunities for enhancing relationships with key customers/partners through ‘money-can’t buy’ experiences.
  • Work with the company rewards team to reward members with exclusive access to events/experiences.
  • Support internal staff engagement by providing motivating and unique experiences to interact with the sponsorship/sponsored entities.
  • Be an expert in evaluating analytics and ROI on sponsorships.
  • Be an expert in negotiating and influencing best relationships and commercial outcomes with partners.
  • Understand in depth, the sponsorship market and players in order to identify opportunities for the brand & provide leadership in this field.
  • Ensure Sponsorship activities are mobile friendly; consider developing sponsorship app to widen audience and promote loyalty.
  • Increase the market share through customer retention and acquisition, to achieve revenue targets.
  • Be an expert in analytics and evaluation of existing online performance and Return on Investment (ROI).
  • Work closely with consumer insights, marketing teams and agencies to further enhance customer segmentation and provide insights and trends that will continually drive improvements in strategy.
  • Work with Head of Brand Marketing to ensure all sponsorships and exploitation activation is working cohesively with marketing campaigns and is in line with brand guidelines.
  • Demonstrate sponsorship excellence and recognition through success at national and international industry award events.
  • Represent the brand at sponsorship events and launches.
  • Provide key partner marketing support in the form of general support, advice and guidance where appropriate and mutually beneficial.
     
Key Requirements

 
  • Degree or equivalent Marketing or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years’ experience in sponsorship and marketing management with responsibility for brand and business growth and leading a team to achieve defined targets.
  • Experience managing multiple agencies and setting, tracking, and delivering ambitious performance metrics.
  • Understanding of the consumer communications landscape, in particular online and social marketing channels.
  • Experience of analysing and interpreting consumer research and implementing recommended change.
  • Experience negotiating complex contracts with rights’ holders.
  • Excellent communications and presentation skills, one on one, group and media.
  • Designing, operating and interpreting consumer research campaigns and insights.
  • Excellent communicator who presents a credible, commercially aware position to key stakeholders and the team.
  • Eligibility to live and work in the EU & current unrestricted worldwide passport.
