IT Solution Architect

About:
Our client is a leading convenience retailer in the Republic of Ireland, the UK and the US and has grown to over €3BN in annual revenue. The contract will be a minimum of 6 months with a high chance of being extended

Key Responsibilities:
As Applegreen expands, the responsibilities will evolve and change over time. The core responsibilities will centre around the following areas:
  • Solution Design: Creating solution designs to address Applegreen business needs, technical requirements, scalability, security, and performance considering various technologies, platforms, and architectures for optimal future proof solutions.
  • Technical Leadership: Providing technical guidance and leadership throughout the program lifecycle by collaborating with different teams, ensuring adherence to architectural standards, best practices, and industry trends.
  • Requirements Gathering: Working closely with business stakeholders to understand their requirements, challenges, and goals by translating business requirements into technical specifications and architecture designs addressing functional and non-functional needs.
  • Systems Integration: Assessing existing systems and infrastructure to identify integration points and design seamless integration solutions ensuring operability, data integrity, and compatibility across different systems.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identifying potential risks and challenges in implementing the proposed solutions and develop strategies to mitigate risks while ensuring the overall stability, reliability, and security of the solutions.
Qualifications, experience & skills      
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar field.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, cloud architecture and an IT infrastructure background in a supply chain and/or high volume retail environment (ERP, CRM, POS).
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing solutions using various technologies, such as cloud platforms, databases, APIs, and web services.
  • Knowledge of security principles and practices related to IT solutions.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with all stakeholders.
  • Experience with project management and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
