Operations Support Engineer

Our client is responsible for setting the strategic direction and leading the development and delivery of best-in-class technology solutions for all public transport services within the Republic of Ireland. They are looking for an Operations Support Engineer to join their team and drive forward their best-in-class service to the people of Ireland.

Key Responsibilities
 
  • Ensuring Transport Technology systems are operating and maintained to highest standards such as Automatic Vehicle Location, Ticketing Systems and Real Time Passenger Information.
  • Responsible for addressing all service-related issues at operator sites.
  • Responsible for coordinating system installations and/or upgrades at customer sites.
  • Ensuring the timely and prioritised management of incident faults relating to vehicle equipment.
  • Supporting and maintaining the relationship with managers, internal stakeholders, customers, suppliers, and contractors that supply services.

Key Requirements
 
  • Hold a minimum of an NFQ Level 7 degree in a relevant technical subject, preferably engineering or computing.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years recent satisfactory experience in a technical, production and or operations role, with 2 of those years managing people and/or projects.
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of database query tools and or process control.
  • Demonstrable ability to fault-find and troubleshoot technical issue.
  • Have experience of working in a complex multi-vendor system and/or multi-vendor field service supporting role.
  • Hold a National Craft Certificate in any of the following: Electrical, mechanical, aeronautical and/or Automotive.
